A Garden for the Community

The garden is very much a garden for the community and visitors are welcome all year round, to explore, relax or pick produce in season.

We have very strong links with local schools and play-groups and have for some years been offering play-group and school visits, citizenship placements and gardening experience to young and old alike.

We can offer work experience to young people, which has in the past led to paid employment elsewhere. We have also provided support for adults with learning disabilities.

Since 2007 we have been working with Kingsbridge in Bloom, and this year we were delighted to welcome the judges once more, and especially delighted that there were 2 Gold Awards this year - South West in Bloom and Britain in Bloom!

We offer guided visits and talks to local groups such as the Gardening Clubs, U3A and Women's Institute groups.

This year we have welcomed the U3A Art Group and the Camera Club

One of our main objectives, however, is to provide a place to take a break from the stresses of everyday life, so we are always happy to welcome visitors who just want to sit and enjoy the beauty of the garden – and maybe a picnic.
